In 2010, my choir was chosen to sing back up to one of Foreigner's songs, I Want to Know What Love Is. Not only was it a fun event, but we were able to raise money for our high school. We sold CDs as well as raffle tickets for a Les Paul guitar that was autographed by the band. The raffle took place after my choir joined Foreigner on stage for the final song. It was a great experience and we were able to raise over $1,000 for the music program at Lutheran High Northwest. Looking back, I am glad I had this opportunity. It helped me gain confidence in myself and helped me realize that life is full of new adventures. I never would have imagined that I would sing in front of thousands of people on stage without fainting. It's important to step outside your comfort zone every once in a while and learn new things about yourself.
